Can i please have some recommendations of good/best servos for use in an FSR V 15. Rudder, Throttle, Mixture, Trim tabs.
Must be compatiable with Multiplex receivers/transmitter combination. Currently using some old Futabas.

This is what I use , also older stuff , if available (new servo replacement)
Rudder : Multiplex Royal Power mcV2 / watertight/9,5Nm / 60º in 0,19sec @6V Throttle :
Futaba 9203/watertight/7,6Nm/60º in 0,11sec @ 6V (9402/9404/9405/9206)
Mixture : Futaba 9303/watertight/metalgear/8,0Nm /60ºin 0,24sec @ 6V (9202/9405) Tabs : TowerPro-MG995R* /14,5Nm / 60º in 0,18sec @6V * 20€ @ MHZ # 2027 Most servo's can be ordered with plug of your choise , on the other hand ... it's not so hard to solder MPX-plugs. Forgot this : Transmitter > Futaba FC18+V3 ... On PCM-41.00MHz / Receiver : R-136F (6ch)

Thanks for the replies, many more welcome.
Would you actually notice a speed difference of... example 0.05 sec/60deg on say Rudder or Throttle? Or is there a minimum speed that people go for? Cheers Regards,

I would say: faster is better. but it's a matter of price in my opinion.
but: with 40MHz I noticed no difference between 12,5kg/0,09sec and 12kg/0,20sec. with Futaba FASST 2,4GHz I noticed a difference, perhaps imaginary |

I'm not too bothered about price if i feel i'm getting something more. Although your imagination does play a big part.
The Futaba Brushless servos sound very nice with very high torque and sound possibly more reliable. There is just so much choice with very little difference. Also i wanted to go digital for most of the servos, although trim tabs aren't as important. Regards,

Maybe i will write to Futaba and ask to test the entire selection for them at no cost

I think you can't go wrong with one of the big brands (MPX, Futaba, Hitec, perhaps Graupner too) if you buy an upperclass servo. I've never had
problems with MPX and Hitec Servos and I've never heard bad about Futaba.
I personally prefer strong digi Servos on the trim tabs, first I used lowbudget Servos (~5kg, no Digi) and my T5 "wobbles" on the straight, with the stronger Digi Servos it was no problem. But now I have other problems with it which do not depend the Servos...no easy boat I think |

Hi Leon,
do bare in mind that most futaba brushless servo's can't operate on 6 volts (which Iam using) I use latest futaba 9351 series (digital) fast and strong in combination with 2.4Ghz and G3 (pcm 2048) it is notacibily faster! regards Juan |

Futaba website says that all but one work on 6v
Yes the 9351 does look a very suitable servo. Cheers Leon Regards,

Sorry guys but the 9351 is a bad servo, the older 9350 is better in reability, 9351 breaks the gear inside easily. I use BLS 351, very good servo.
Leon can you contact me, +46703992989 or email fredrick.cederberg@bredband.net |

Thanks Fredde, the BLS351 is the servo i liked the look of most.
Which ones do you use for throttle, mixture and tabs? Email sent. Plus must arrange our vist to your Swedish clubs... cough-cough... i mean race Cheers, Leon Regards,

For tyhrottle in the 15 boat I use the same and for the smaller boats I use Futaba 9650. . For mixture and tab I use std servos, no need to for high tourqe or
high speed.

Do you know if the BLS351 is or isn't compatiable with the Multiplex transmitter and receiver?

I used to use only Futaba servo.
later some GWS back to all Futaba later In my EVO5 I found problem with 9402 so that I switched to Sanwa ERG-VZ 0.1sec, 13kg.cm, all metal gear. Only time and race can tell the result. Throttle servo 9402 in EVO5, 9650 in Pegasus, Ikarus and Lightning I try to used all standard size servo unless there is space problem My old Pegasus used digital servo for trim tab Trim tab servo of EVO5 is 3002, all new boats will use 3002 as trim tab servo However, my mind is changing all the time. |

15 boat has rudder Sanwa ERG VZ, throttle Sanwa ERG RZ, right side tab ERG RZ anything on centre tab and radio needle. 7.5 boat uses same servo as .90 on rudder and throttle with all others Park HPX. . In the 3.5 rudder is Sanwa ERG VZ and all others GWS Park HPX. I found the Sanwa to be the most reliable servo I've ever used.

Anyone have recent experience with Hitec?
There new range seems good and have heard better things than "old" Hitec. Regards, Leon Regards,

I used Hitec servos 3years ago, 2servos on rudder per one year - 2 electronics flame (boat - 15ccm). News from Hitec I don't know.
2 season I'am using Multiplex (and Graupner) - no problems. |

I am using Hitec HS-5245MG now
Same size as Futaba S3002 Very fast and powerful http://www.servocity.com/...-5245mg_digital_mini.html Only time can tell reliability |

I finally went for the same Hitec servo for the throttle and mixture. It looks very nicely made but as you say we will soon see how good it is!
I also brought the Futaba BLS351 and BLS 352 to compare for the Rudder servo. These look very nice. Now all i need is a Boat to put them in!!! Regards,

I am still using Futaba S9650 as throttle servo which is proven workable.
The Hitec is for trim tab and mixture. I will use it as throttle servo after its reliability is proven. |
