Ok i know we haven't yet had Leno 2008 but with the pictures of Hungary 2010 on Roberts website just wanted to invite peolpes views, impressions and comments.

Looks a lovely venue. Already looking forward to it... although not the 2400 mile round drive

Spa sounds a marvellous bonus!!!

Are the boats racing a triangle course in one photo??

Unable to gauge the lakes size from where we would be racing...

Hiya Leon ,

the venue looks pretty nice , lots of facilities and such . I think driving up there is the same as going to Norway , only cheaper ( i hope ) ( well the distance is almost the same for us belgians ) .

Camping looks to be alright too !!!

Hi,

I had a chance to attend the competition this early May. Pictures of the lake which you can see on Daniel's sites are taken from the tower, but unfortunately do not present the most important part of the lake very well. Try to imagine it as a arch with peninsula in the middle. The standard FSR V course can be seen on the left, but for WC the course will be straight ahead (they declared to cover the swimming pool to create more preparation place for competitors). The lake in the middle is cca 200 m long and 100 m wide.

Food service and refreshment was really good, camping is cca 300 m from the course (inside the spa area). They declared to make some improvements in the camp, but it was accaptable at present as well.

Bart, i didnt realise Norway was that far if driving round. (as i got the boat there) At least it's given you some experience

organisation was o.k., organizers are experienced, judges correct. Each country is specific with som habits, but the atmosphere during a competition in Hungary is always friendly and peaceful - no stress and hurry. Hungary is just starting with AMBrc lap counting, they had couple of problems with that, but it can be solved easily.

Btw. Hungarian competitors are well driving and really fast.

I have added an aerial photo of the lake to the 2010 WC preview on my website, it gives a clearer view of how the layout will be for the WC's. I flew over to Hungary last Sunday in my helicopter.!!!!!

As I had a talk to organizers - yes. They want to run exactly the same categories as it is in Naviga rulebook (once having competitors of course). There was a discussion about EC during the section meeting at Leno with some asnwers to them, therefore I assume, that the invitation to EC will be ready soon. I'll trave to Hungary for their last competitiony in 4 weeks, that time hopefully more information about EC will be clear.

Btw, this discussion is a good way to issue all questions to organizers you may have.

Hi All

Don't think you could ask them to mix it up like in Norway, multy offshore and hydro all mixed, I did notice there was some there for the 2 weeks who voted to split it up and went for offshore and multy, not the same going half way through is it.

it was proved by Peter Schaft, that WC and EC will stay split - all heats and finals for H+O followed by all heats and finals for V (or vice versa).

noone can answer your question now. I am not a speaker of organizers, but after section meeting they have to put heads together (I am not sure about the english phrase) and think about it first. Maybe you now, but the event will be something like an Open European Championship, which is not standard EC managed in order with Naviga rules.

I had a talk to Hungarian guys after the meeting, they had a lot of open points. Hopefully more information will be available in Csongrad's competition Sep 20-21. I'll keep you informed

I was not there but i heard that Peter would not even talk about the matter!!!

It is not in the Naviga rule book how the event is to be run. This is left to the country organising the event.

Hungary PLEASE join the the event.

The split is ruining the friendly atmosphere and spoiling the prestige of the event. There should be 1 opening ceremony, 1 banquet and 1 awards ceremony.

(sorry rant over

, but this seriously makes me upset as the atmosphere is what makes WC's.

)

Leon is right, as long as we are doing the all 3 categories at the same event it should be mixed BUT I want it to be split totally, 1 year it is V and the next year H and O, why you think, well to find organizers to do an event for 2 weeks is not easy, who want to work 2 weeks for free, not many and today we are running bigger V events on 3 days. Also then we can open up with more entries for the countries so it can be a real WC with the all the best drivers, in some countries it is harder to qualifie to the WC then winning it. in the car racing the different parts of the world get different amount of places regarding how many they are and how good they are doing at the previous WC, maybe not suitable for Naviga but for sure something to look into.

Fredde, we all have our own reason and point of view.
The best way is to vote.
However, there were not enough attendance of country when we vote for split/joint in section meeting a few years ago.
A fair decision anyway.
A few hours of section meeting every 2 years is not possible to discuss or solve problem.
Internet conference and vote can be considered by Naviga. Only one vote and voice is allowed for each county.

Yes Bobo of course BUT you must agree that like it is now it is %!*%, 2 weeks and after 1 week it changes people, only a handful is staying. Should the champs be like this for a handful of drivers, I don't think so but this is only my point pf view.
