Hi!

I have also tested the Eagle tree system in my boat. Initially I had a lot of problems, but they worked out fine. The biggest issue is if You use the seagull
wireless system. The placement of the antenna is really important. Otherwise You will have lots of disturbance with the radio.
Eagle is sooo nice if You have any problems. I actually got the system because Sebastien Vidmont is on the Eagle website.
One way of getting a second opinion in speed is to try the water...

I'm curious to know what is your feed back from a reliability point. Ball bearing life time ? etc

On car market there are so much different brands of fuel. But with some of them you must change conrod and ball bearing every 2 hours !!!...

Hello,
as you probably know, I am using the eagle tree system for a long time. I have good relations with eagle. I confirm that it is impossible to use the GPS unit
to have one average speed on one or some laps. The GPS unit "lose" the boat after each corner, and it is hard for the unit to find the position on 50
meters. The solution is to use the GPS just for the max speed, at the end of the length for example, or by driving in curve during 1 minute and just do at full...

So maybe it helps us all if we work together in order to figure out the best way to use it. For me the weak point is the gps unit and I really liked Bart's
idea of combining a garmin with the eagle tree, using the logger only for rpm (and let's not forget heat) measuring. This way the dashboard is maybe
irrelevant, coz it's easier to examine rpm and heat data...

there was a big time difference between a given rpm figure and a gps speed figure. Presumably you get the rpm value sent to your dashboard almost straight
away, but the gps speed has to be worked out by the satellites before it changes. The time delay wasn't consistent. that's my theory anyway.
